Days 1-12 in East Cambodia

 Elephant Sanctuary

Where Volunteering Meets Ecotourism

An authentic elephant sanctuary nestled in the forest of Cambodia is where we will spend the beginning part of the trip. Because the sanctuary believes elephants should roam freely and naturally in their own environment with little disturbance, our projects will focus largely on caring for their environment, reforestation work and planting food for the elephants to eat, such as bamboo.  Students will also learn how to do wellness checks on the elephants and be involved in a plethora of other projects on site.  Our off days will be spent hiking and swimming in the forest waterfalls and visits to town.

Days 13-21 City Exploration

Cultural Excursions in Cambodia

Historic & Modern

Cambodia is one of the tourists hot spots in Southeast Asia. Angor Wat in Siem Reap is world famous for their complex of ancient and ornate temples.  Cambodia also boasts floating villages and lakes. Phnom Penh is an exciting capital city with bustling streets, interesting food and plenty of things to do, and we will dip into them all.  While fun is definitely on the agenda,

to truly understand Cambodia, a visit to the Khmer Rouge prisons and killing fields offers a poignant glimpse into its history, ensuring a well-rounded and unforgettable journey.

So... "wat" does touring for 8 days look like?

PHNOM PENH - 4 days

Students will have the opportunity to customize their trip experience while in  the Capital.  There are a plethora of museums, markets, temples and cultural shows to visit as well as the waterpark and day trips.  Some of our group activities will include the Phnom Penh Night Market, S21 Prison, the Killing Fields. Vespa or bike tour on Silk Island and the Silver Pagoda at he Royal Palace.

SIEM REAP - 4 days

Siem Reap is the 2nd largest city and the most visited area in Cambodia.  Starting off with watching sunrise creep up behind Angkor Wat, we will have 2 days to explore all of the major temples in the Angkor Wat complex as well as some of the smaller ones.  We will fill our afternoons and evenings  with visits to Kompong Phluk; a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake, a Cambodian Circus and of course devour some gelato at the Gelato Lab.  Students will have the option to pick some other excursions or day trips to areas close to SR including a day at the Cambo Beach Club Pool Party
